I am a USDA licensed breeder of African Pygmy hedgehogs My licensed number is:56-A-0128
We are located in Seneca, SC, which is near Clemson SC.
We will ship USA only, but only for larger orders (4 or more), because the closest shipping facility for me is over 2 hours away. Shipping is very costly, so I would suggest that you get a friend that also wants to purchase a hedgehog to split the cost. I will not ship if temperatures are too cold or too hot.
Hedgehogs can make fun and loving pets if cared for properly, and over the years I have been blessed to experience them for myself. I first came across them in early middle school, when I was able to convince my parents that I was old enough to take care of one. I took my new position as hedgehog mother very seriously and through a lot of research, both on the internet and with books, I found my experiences with hedgehogs to be very rewarding. I began breeding a couple in high school, and had a lot of rewarding experiences through my hobby, but had to take a hiatus to go to college.
Once out of college I began looking for a beautiful pair of hedgehogs to begin my breeding project and I found what I was looking for, and maybe a little more! I look forward to what the future will bring!
It is important to me that their offspring are cared for properly by their prospective owners, so I tried to be as extensive as possible when describing how to take care of them. If you have any questions about owning a hedgehog or whether or not a hedgehog is right for you, please feel free to email me at SCSpikesandScales@yahoo.com. No question is too petty or "dumb" if it pertains to the quality of your hedgie's life! They are exotic animals, and thus need special treatment. One must pay careful attention to the types of food and bedding he/she is using, and that the hedgehog's exercise and socialization needs are met. Once you get a good set up and routine going, you can have a beautiful, healthy, and loving little pet.
If you are interested in one of our hoglets, please check out the buying hedgehogs link and read about prices and contract information.
Ever since I was a child, my mom and I had a tradition in which we would plan out my birthday cake, and would make it ourselves. Even into adulthood, whenever I am with my family on or near my birthday, we have continued this tradition. Here is my 2009 birthday cake!
