Attention!: As of January 2015, SC Spikes and Scales is currently on hiatus. We are unsure at this time when/if we will resume breeding. Thank you to those who supported us over the years! If you are interested in purchasing a hedgehog, please refer to Hedgehog Central, as they are a great resource full of many breeders in various states!
Hedgehogs usually cost between $175 and $225, though they can be more or less. The pricing depends on color, temperament, pedigree, and age.
If you would like to be on the waiting list, please copy and paste these questions into an email, and send the email to SCSpikesandScales@yahoo.com

When babies are six weeks old, I contact the waiting list to let them pick their baby. The first person on the waiting list gets first pick, and so forth.
Part of the process of ensuring my babies go to quality homes is that I always try to be available to help you with any question you have about hedgehogs and their care before or after you buy a hedgehog. You don't even have to have bought it from us! We want to know that every hedgehog has a chance at a good life, whether they came from a reputable breeder, or a pet store. We don't encourage pet store breeders since they are generally more concerned about the quantity of hedgehogs produced rather than the quality. The babies have very little socialization, and most often they are not friendly, and never will be. However, it is not the hedgehog's fault that it was brought into the world in such circumstances, and we hope that even those hedgehogs will find loving homes patient enough to work with them.
